Sometimes you see forest for trees, and sometimes trees for forest
Ben Horowitz said Hire on strengths, rather than lack of weakness. It is the job of the org to limit the downsides of people's weakness, and amplify their strengths.
I'll talk about mine.
I am extremely flexible, I can quickly reorient myself for a situation I have never seen or never been into.
I think and see broadly, I can see patterns from one domain being applicable in another domain. This often allows me to come up with very creative solutions. This also gives me a good general intuition of how things might turn out.
I think I see things in people, I see their strengths, I see their weakness and I feel for them. I think I can sense where they fit.
I am courageous, of course there are times when fear grips me, but I have learned how to move forward nevertheless.
What I am not good at?
I get distracted easily.
Generally I don't have an eye for detail. I miss a lot of small things and I often seek help to identify these and then weed them out. For example, I can never identify typos in my own blog posts, no matter how many times I read it. So I often ask someone to review a draft. Sometimes you miss forest for the trees, and sometimes trees for the forest, can't have both at the same time.
Also this often leads me to stop at the "good enough" stage. Here I need help from people to push me to completion. So, if there is any annoying detail in the web app (or anything) which is bothering you, pester me to fix it, you are doing me a service.
I can appear to be extremely random. It's both good and bad, sometimes it's a form of creativity, sometimes it's a form of confusion.
